Boats
Boats have been around in my interests for a while, going back to fishing with my grandfather and sailing a little in small texas lakes. I became much more involved with boats through being friends with Brendan Ravenhill, an artist and boat builder from Islesford, ME. While spending a summer in Maine boats became everything, idealized blending of aesthetics and functions, with sailing in particular becoming lessons and metaphors of ways to approach life and meaning. My interest in boats begot the Shrimp Boat Project and other Gulf Coast explorations and finally reached fruition when I began building boats in 2008.
