Big Parade

The formation of the Big Parade was a collaboration between Seth Capron, Katy Goodman, Page Neal and me. We conceived of the parade as an experiment in the power of our human need to express ourselves as well as in the effectiveness of decentralized organizing theory. The premise was to facilitate a parade that allowed an open forum for individuals and organizations to represent themselves in any way that they saw fit. In the end dozens of people helped to organize the parade and hundreds more participated in the event. The parade was a huge hit and has become an Oberlin, Ohio tradition, with new people organizing it every year.

Some Images from the parade from when I was involved.
